Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Navigation Management and Menu Structure
- On your Blogsitefy dashboard, click Navigation in the left menu.
- Here you organize which menu items (links) appear at the top of your blog under the Header, such as Pricing, Showcase, About, Resources, Start Free Trial, etc.
- Use the interface to add, reorder, or update header links. You can also set links to open in a new tab or add submenus for extra structure.
- This navigation allows readers to easily travel to key pages on your site.

Step 2: Creating Menu Items (Pages, Categories, Custom/External Links)
- On the Navigation page, click the + Add button to open the "Add Navigation" dialog.
- For your menu item, set:
- Navigation Item: The label/text that will appear in your menu.
- Link: The URL or page address the item will direct to.
- Item Placement: Choose where to place the navigation item (Header, Home, or Footer).
- Open in new tab: Toggle on if you want the link to open in a new browser tab.
- You can add links to:
- Pages (like "About" or "Contact") from your existing site pages.
- Categories so visitors can browse by blog topic.
- Custom/External Links to other websites or special pages (enter the full URL).
- Click Submit to add the new item to your navigation menu.

Step 3: Menu Organization — Drag & Drop, Hierarchy, Dropdowns
Your menu list in Blogsitefy can be organized for clarity and usability with these features:
- Reorder Items: Move navigation items up or down by clicking and dragging the handle next to each item to change their order.
- Create Submenus (Dropdowns): To make dropdowns or sub-menus by clicking the + Add Submenu button next to a navigation item. This opens the Add Sub Navigation dialog where you can enter the Submenu Name and Submenu Link for each sub-link. Click + Add Submenu Item to add more sub-links, then hit Save to confirm.
- Build Hierarchies: Always use the + Add Submenu button in the Action column for submenu management. Group related items to keep your navigation organized.
This approach helps structure your navigation for better organization, making it easier for readers to find what they need.

Step 4: Menu Item Settings — Labels, URLs, Open in New Tab
When you add or edit a menu item in Blogsitefy, you have several settings options:
- Navigation Item (Label): Enter the name that will appear in your blog's menu (e.g., “Pricing,” “Showcase,” “About,” etc.).
- Link (URL): Set the link destination. Use the full address (including “https://”) for external links, or a relative path for your own blog pages.
- Open in New Tab: Toggle this on if you want the link to open in a new browser tab—especially useful for external sites.
Use these settings to make each navigation item functional, clear, and user-friendly.

Step 5: Mobile & Responsive Menu Best Practices
Preview or check your website on a phone or tablet to see how the menu looks.
A good menu stacks items as a list or collapses into a “hamburger” (three-line) button for small screens.
Make sure no important page is hidden, and dropdowns work with taps.
Keep main menu items short and clear for small screens.
Adjust your menu if things look crowded or cut off; test different menu arrangements.

Tip
A clear and well-organized navigation menu helps visitors find what they need fast!
If you’re unsure, start simple — Home, Blog, About, Contact — and add more links as your blog grows.
